painting, where he poured paint on random spots on the canvas.

Life[]

Pollock was born in 1912 to Presbyterian parents Stella May and LeRoy Pollock, with four older brothers. He was mostly raised in Arizona and Chico, California. While living in Echo Park, California, he was expelled from Manual Arts High school, having been previously expelled from another school. Pollock became an artist further on in his life and was first introduced to what would later become his drip technique in 1936. From 1945-55, he created his most famous works using the drip technique. On August 11 1956, Pollock was driving under the influence of alcohol and crashed, causing his death.
