Guernica is a famous painting by the artist Pablo Picasso. It was painted in the year 1937. Guernica was created in response to the bombing of Guernica, a Basque village in northen Spain. It is desined to be a cubist take on the terror experienced by the victims of the bombing. It is noted for its immense size, being 3.5 metres tall and 7.8 metres wide. Guernica was shown at the 1937 World's Fair in Paris, where it was met with immense acclaim. It currently sits in the Museo Renia Sofia, Madrid, Spain.
