Water Lilies is a series of about 250 paintings by the French impressionist artist Claude Monet. Each of them are a take on Monet's water garden in Giverny, France. Creating these paintings occupied about 30 years of his life, many of which were painted while Monet was suffering from cataracts, an eye condition.
These paintings are located in galleries all over the world. Some of the galleries housing these paintings include Museé d'Orsay, MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. On 19 June 2007, one of the paintings in the series was sold for £18.5 at Sotheby's in London.
